Polestar has slashed the prices of its Polestar 2 range, offering discounts of up to $15,000 until June 9.
Savings differ across the range, but Long Range Dual Motor examples in Pure spec will retail for $61,400 before on-roads – down $15,000 on its previous list price, and within spitting distance of the base Tesla Model 3 ($58,900 before on-roads).
Although it’s a significant cut, the Polestar reduction pales in comparison to the $25,000 cut from the Peugeot e-2008 recently. It’s similar to the price cut Nissan has given the Leaf and Leaf e+ as well.

Other Polestar 2 variants have had their prices cut. Long Range Dual Motor cars with the Performance Pack are now $10,000 cheaper, while Long Range Single Motor prices have been cut by $7500 – and have gained an additional $5000 in equipment.
Standard Range Single Motor versions have been reduced by $5000, which doubles to $10,000 if no packages are optioned.
With the deals applied, prices start from $57,400 plus on-roads for the base Standard Range Single Motor.

The offer is available until June 9, 2024, with the end of the current financial year approaching.
Positioned as a Tesla Model 3 rival, the Polestar 2 received a mid-life update for the 2024 model year after first arriving Down Under in 2021.
The Standard Range Single Motor features a 69kWh battery, while all other variants have an 82kWh battery.
Outputs range from 200kW and 490Nm for the Single Motor variants, up to 350kW and 740Nm for Dual Motor versions equipped with the Performance Pack.
